About Food for Life Cycle for Life Trust
The initiative to provide food to the needy was initiated in 1979 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founding Acharya (mentor) of ISKCON (The International Society for Krishna Consciousness), in Bengal, India. Since then, the Food For Life Program has become the largest and most prominent Food Relief Program in the world, providing 2.2 million meals per day.
The concept of cycling to raise Funds was initiated in 1998 by a small group of like-minded people in Nairobi. The unique principle behind this initiative was for the sponsors to pay 100% of the cost of the cycling events. The Funds raised by the cyclists would be credited to the Trust Fund for feeding. The success and impact of these feeding programs are due to the combined efforts of the cyclists, sponsors, well-wishers and the Food For Life Cycle For Life Committee Members
